Modèle Magazine #886 - July 2025

Modèle Magazine titled its July 2025 issue: 'Special Scale Models'. And the small 64 mm EDF F-16 from FMS was among the scale models that were tested!

Laurent Buissyne has temporarily set aside his CAD programme and personal designs in order to test a foam rubber jet.



He has found an excellent model with the F-16 FMS and a 64 mm turbine: it has excellent flight characteristics, an enchanting sound, and looks realistic both on the ground and in the air.

The F-16 was found to be slightly 'nose heavy', so it is better to use light batteries. However, it offers a particularly stable and precise flight, with or without weapons, and can be easily dismantled.

The only drawback is the fixed landing gear; with this type of jet, a retractable landing gear would be both complex to install and too heavy.

Although this small F-16 is certainly not a beginner's model, but it could well become your teacher when you switch from propeller planes to EDF jets!
