Modèle Magazine #883 - April 2025



In April 2025, Modèle Magazine published a review of the Cessna 182 FMS, awarding it the title of 'Trainer Model of the Year'. This wonderful six-page review of the Cessna 182 Skylane FMS was written by the Bordier brothers, Charly and Rémy. It features the stunning foam semi-scale model of one of the most popular general aviation aircraft on the planet for many decades.

Firstly, they praise the quality of the kit and, as always with FMS products, the quality of the packaging. They also highlight how quickly the model can be assembled: Just 1 hour, including radio programming!

The flight qualities are also highly specified, with the ability to combine the flight characteristics of a trainer, a scale model and, although this is 'off topic', impressive aerobatic capabilities in a single model!

The STOL aspect is also very much present. While the optional reverse function does not seem necessary for the “land” version, it could be a big advantage if the model is equipped with floats.



The only minor criticisms are that the position lights flash unrealistically and that the elevator and rudder servos remain visible. However, these issues can easily be remedied. Nothing too serious, though!

'Surprising and ultra-realistic' is how the flight test section opens, and it's a fitting summary of this test that will make you want to own this Skylane!
